Project Description
Fantastic Greece is located in the Mediterranean and is one of our most popular destinations. The coastline offers opportunities for chalk-white beaches and the crystal blue sea extends beyond 15,000 km. Greece has up to 6,000 islands, of which 227 are inhabited. The climate in Greece in June-August is dry and hot, but the sea breeze will make this comfortable.
Traveling on a sailing holiday in Greece has become very popular in recent years. We currently offer more than 4,000 boats in the area.
THE IONIC ISLANDS
The Ionian Islands on the west coast of Greece, traditionally called the Seven Islands, include the islands of Corfu, Paxos, Lefkada, Ithaca, Kefallonia, Zakynthos and Kythira. In addition, there are many smaller islands that are worth visiting. The region is known for its green and lush nature. Several of the islands, especially Lefkada, protect well against weather and wind, something the region is also known for.
The Ionian Islands is a great sailing destination for those seeking quiet days at sea. We rent boats from most of the islands, as well as from the mainland, Preveza.
DODECANESE
The Dodecanese borders to Turkey and has 12 large islands and around 150 smaller islands. The most famous are Rhodes, Kos, Patmos, Astypalaia, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kasos, Leros, Nisyros, Symi, Tilos and Kastellorizo. The islands are known for having a rich history with many medieval fortresses.
In the summer, the region has a steady wind from the northwest-west in medium strength, this makes the area a favorite place for those who love sailing. We rent boats from the largest islands, and sailing from Turkey can also be an option.
THE CYCLADES
The Cyclades are located in the Aegean Sea, southeast of the mainland. The area consists of around 220 islands, the most important of which are Amorgos, Anafi, Andros, Andiparos, Delos, Ios, Kea, Kimolos, Kythnos, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Folegandros, Serifos, Sifnos, Sikinos, Syros, Skhinousa, Tinos and Santorini.
The climate is usually dry and mild. Most of the islands are less lush, except for the island of Naxos, where agriculture is an important industry. The Cyclades are known to have stronger winds than other regions. Ideal area for those with an experienced skipper and like a little more demanding sailing.
